Cnadair CL-44-O Guppy to be scrapped.
During an extension of the last airworthy Viscount discussion on that thread a sad piece of information came to light.
After many years of little activity at Teeside and then Bournemouth it appears the aircraft is about to be scrapped
Shame, especially given the uniqueness of the aircraft.
Here is the aircraft's history

So if anyone wants to see it....now's the time

I would suggest the last newsletter on that site may be of interest to all reading this thread.
Also any Ex Guppy engineers are required if they have spare time to help with the dissembly!

A point of interest here is that they were to be two Guppy's, but one was never converted.
The other one N446T was delivered to Conroy in December 1968.
In Feb 1969 it was leased to Mobile Oil.
On the 1st May 1969 it suffered an undercarriage collapse on landing at Anchorage and caught fire.
