A request for Mr Rick Piper

Post by Rich »

Hi Rick, I am working on 2 repaints of your Herald as a follow on from the one allready done, I have added a small amount of shine to my Model as I am not to hot on Alpha channel stuff, with your permission I would lke to upload the slightly shined model with the paints when completed, I have to thank Garry Russel for Guiding me to the pics I worked from now its down to Paulo so far as I know him and his father who worked on the AMI Heralds are the only people who remembers them.

Link to the Air Manila Herald thread in the Philippine Flight Sim Group forum with progress to date.

Hi Rich

No problem.

The model has dynamic shine & i thought shiney textures too
but it's a long time since i had time to fly it.

it mostly needs a new set of flight dynamics as they are miles off realistic.

I will use the new 748 fde as a base as that is the most accurate one yet.

Rick

Hi Rick,

Coincidentally I was going to do a repaint for the Herald the other day but when I looked at the paintkit I though I might have a go at upgrading (and enlarging) that a bit too... perhaps a couple of us could time our 'upgrades' to release concurrently-ish?

Worth a go?

Hi Toby

Paintkit is already 1024x1024 so not quite sure what you mean about enlarge it ???.

I will at some point be altering the model as it has a few faults
(I know before you list them)

So i wouldn't go mad as it might be obsolete before long

Hi Rick, Many thanks for that, yes you are right your model does have dynamic shine exactly the one I am using so no need to upload the Mdl file, it may be a day or 2 before I upload still tying down the colouring, uploaded the latest screenies today on the same thread as above.

Hi Rick,

The paintkit I downloaded is I think 1024x512, but it seems the total number of pixels covering the fuselage (in the vertical direction) is quite low, thats why I thought about enlarging it, redrawing the panel lines and adding rivets where appropriate. My plan was to do the original Air UK blue scheme, as applied to G-BAZJ, G-APWF and G-BEBB. No hurry though, if you have something up your sleeve yourself, I will wait for that

Herald textures ready to upload

Post by Rich »

Rick, I will hopefully be uploading the Herald texture tommorrow, I have also reshined a model to semi matt a little less shinier than yours I think it shows the colours better though people have the choice to use either shine,
Hope this is ok ?

Here are some screenies to compare

Original shine.
