Mornin guys. Having a shite day at work but won't be able to do much until tomorrow night at earliest. I was thinking somewhere in the Indian ocean and or somewhere between Malta and Cyprus. Hopefully I'll get some clear time tomorrow to have a play.

Thanks for all your help chaps.

Hi Dyl

Have you moved over to GMAX ?.

not seen you on anything since Holyhead breakwater.
Hi Rick,

I have been using Gmax, but only to make a landable deck for my fictional carrier & a hangar..... I'm affraid I'm too much of an FSDS Man to change now...... . I've got a few possible projects in the pipeline though, but they'll have to wait until the winter.

Hi Dave,

Hadn't realised that You'd set it up using AFCADS & Fletten files.... Now thats a long winded way to get an aircraft to land on a deck. For that very reason I decided it was quicker to learn the Max script Attachtool section in Gmax & it was..... I thought that You'd set it up that way to be honest with you mate. If that were the case it'd taken only a few mins to set the carriers up. Now it's a slightly diffrent project to contend with, & to be honest at the moment, I havent got the time to work on it, as I'm testing the latest beta 3 version of FSX, to see how my current scenery works in it, as well as working on the house after work, combine that with having two kids too, time gets a bit tight.

Sorry Ben, when I have more time, I will look at it for you :dunno:

Dyl, the carrier does have a GMAX hard deck (and ski-jump  ).
The AFCAD is for parking spots, tower freqs etc, as needed for AI.
The flatten file is to stop the carrier sitting on a plinth of water as a result of the AFCAD.
If you don't use the AFCAD, you don't need the flatten, and you can still land and take off, but can't use it for AI, and it won't appear in the FS airfield menu.

Thats fair enough Dave,

I assumed that You'd used the AFCAD & Flatten to make it landable :worried:

If that's the case, then I could place it without any problems at all. But to be honest, I don't fancy wrestling with AFCAD vs Flatten again, too much nether reigon ache.......

I know what you mean Dyl
Would be nice if you could just relocate an AFCAD, but I don't thinks it's possible. I had to create a new one from scratch when I moved the Hermes to McLeland bay.

Dave, it is a shame, I'm not that hot on the old AFCAD front, so I don't know if You could relocate it :dunno:

I certainly don't mind placing it for you Ben, it'd take Me all of 10 mins

Ben, I can't remember which prog I used to create the flattens, but there is one called FlattEx available at Avsim (and others) which can generate flatten co-ords for the scenery.cfg from withing FS itself.
