I'm all in favour of VAs (you get to meet some great people!), and CBFS looks interesting, but (1) I haven't got around to the online thing (2) I already fly for 4 VAs and would need to drop at least 1 of them to find the time.

In the meantime, good luck to CBFS, and perhaps when I retire...

I've been retired now as long as the Trident (20 years)...Joining a VA would be rather like going back to work

Seriously though I spend nearly all my waking hours with Flight Simulator and my various projects and testing etc already take my available time

That was already taken as read Peter

Tks for your comment too John. Chris Trott who currently flies for us is CEO of his own airline and he's had to leave it behind while he racks up a few hours on CBFS  While being able to fly for more than one VA gives a virtual pilot a great deal of variation, I certainly couldn't see myself flying for 4!! Perhaps there is some mileage to be had with the 'partnership' scheme FlyNET operates but I'm not au fait enough with it's workings to comment. It wouldn't help your particular situation if the VA's you currently fly for are not FlyNET based and even if they were, we could find ourselves having as many partners as we do pilots!!

Noting your avatar Eddie.. if the VA bought a Concorde, would you be prepared to fly it?? Too damn quick for me as I get a nosebleed above 300kias and the world moves into a '2001 A Space Odyssey' mode  Problem with us buying one is that they don't make a great deal of money (if any) due to the high fuel burn and the fare we are allowed to charge. There are no fare bands so in the VA, the pax would pay the same price LHR to JFK as they would in a VC10
