Replacement ATC voicepacks?
I'm wandering if anyone knows of any decent replacement voicepacks? I've been enjoying a lot of offline flying with the Tantris AI pack lately and I'd love to replace the American ATC voices (even just the pilot voice will do) with something a bit more British sounding if possible.
Hi Chris,
There is a new VOXATC UK about to come out or is already available.

It was Jetset who told me of this and sent me a demo sometime ago (previous version) well worth you looking at as it is all voice activated, it does cost money, but money would be well spent. You will also need heaset with boon microphone as well

I used to be an optimist but with age I am now a grumpy old pessimist.

Hmmmm Well, Nigel, as the man with the wooden leg said...!Nigel H-J wrote:it does cost money, but money would be well spent.

The use of voice recognition certainly adds to the realism but at a price. The standard Microsoft voices are very limited and artificial sounding. They do offer extra ones but they are horendously expensive and - if they're the ones I did some work with last year for another ATC program - they're not that much better than the standard ones.
They're making great play of the RT phraseology and procedures being accurate for the UK. Although there are some good things like MATZ penetrations and a Danger Area Crossing Service, they're not as good in some areas as they're claiming. I came across some real howlers in the documentation including a pilot making a position report with the words, "altitude flight level zero seven zero"!!!!

My advice, for what it's worth, would be to give this program a miss until it's been developped a little more and the price has come down to something more reasonable. There are alternatives.
