The Motorist is not an "Insignificant Minority" like the Huntsman or Pistol Shooter and political parties should be aware of that fact...Ming has just destroyed the LIBDEM's chances with his "Green Taxes"...Many disenchanted Labour voters would certainly have swung over to them before his idiotic decision but they will now move towards the Conservatives instead...(ANYTHING to get rid of Brown!). The Conservatives should now start to cash in on this by PROMISSING cuts in fuel duty.
Sorry...End of rant :tuttut:

Agree with Peters' post regarding the way these parties view taxation on petrol.
The biggest problem with MPs' is that they do not take into consideration of any hardships that befall on the motorists who may live in urban areas where public transport is few and far between or in some cases, none existant. These people have no option but to run their cars, it is not done for luxury but as a neccesity and this also includes those who work nights when public transport is not available.
Unfortunately with these MPs being able to claim travelling expenses, be it on trains or by road, they will never feel the financial burden or hardship of those who are forced to use their cars in order to carry out their day to day tasks.
I could add more but will leave it here for now!!

I used to be an optimist but with age I am now a grumpy old pessimist.
Could'nt agree more Nigel. I will also refrain from saying further for the sake of my sanity. :huf:Nigel H-J wrote:Agree with Peters' post regarding the way these parties view taxation on petrol.

The whole tax-on-fuel set up really does stink. :curse:
