Ugly clams? Yeeeuch! I had no idea
I've been through Bellingham a few times but always late at night and, regrettably, never stopped for a chowder  (Aeroplane bit coming up....) When BA was flying to the Pacific NW in the early 90s we had 3 or 4 flights a week from LHR to SEA and YVR alternately terminating at one and transitting the other. It completely screwed up the crew slip pattern and we were constantly being bussed from one to the other (via Bellingham) to be in the right place for the next flight!

But we occasionally had days off and my most memorable trip in WA was hiring a white cadillac convertible (it was all they had left) and driving the second Mrs Speedbird up into the hills to Roslyn in search of Northern Exposure (who remembers that?). We found it - they were filming while we were there!

And that should get you off the hook, Leif, as Northern Exposure is even more off thread than clams. I bravely sacrifice myself to the Topic Police on your behalf :worried:

Ian

Not being nosey - But are you old enough to have been part of the
Great SEAC games on Yankee Station
Was in Uncle Sam's happy canoe club in 70-74, made two WESPAC's and spent some time off Nam, remember some exercises with the Brits and Aussies. Were you there?

Haven't tried the airport chowder yet, will have to make run up there for lunch one day.

Now I think we are pushing the off topic window.
