Weekend's weather

Post by Robin »

Well we are well and truly under bombardment at the moment, unfotunately I was out in it yesterday at Silverstone marshalling.
The morning started extremely sunny and then we noticed this, creeping up behind us.

It was nice and sunny when I went to asda yesterday so I just had a tshirt on, just after I came out it started raining, I tried sheltering under a tree but it didn't really work so I had to walk all the way up the hill with two heavy bags of shopping in the rain. Of course as soon as I got back on campus the sun came out! :curse:

Berkshire was no better either. I've had one very stressed Labrador since 4am yesterday morning  How the hell we've not leaked in is beyond me. Good job I'm not a betting man

Gales and heavy showers

I had to keep the dog on a lead so she could stop me blowing away.

You're lucky you got her to go outside mate. I woke up yesterday (Sat) at around 4.15am to find the good lady on her hands and knees on the bedroom floor talking to the dog. Funny I thought.. the dog's never awake at this time of the day!! :dunno: 'Has the dog been sick or something' questioned I.. still not sure if I was awake or not. 'No' came the reply.. 'its the thunder' :k:

There you have it.. an average early morning in the Booker Household

 For some reason I am in tears at that

I woke up at 3 am last night and saw some really low cloud, "Hell I thought we have got it bad."
My missus said to me this morning "How the hell did you sleep through that last night?"
Apparently at about 4am there were 4 fire engines and police etc in the next street because someones house had exploded. (No I don't live in Kabul or Belfast.)

Low cloud indeed.

Gentlemen, Garry, has it right. According to the BBC Weatherman, this is not 'rain' or 'thunderstorms', they are 'heavy showers'. Please get your definitions right!

It is all the remnants of Hurricane Helene.

It went nowhere near the US, just meandered acoss the Atlantic and dumped the rain here.
