You know what they say, even nostalgia isn't what it used to be!TobyV wrote:Now I am worried Eddie, that wasnt all so very long ago was it? 4 years tops?VEGAS wrote:I had a drunken caper one night, myself and a few others were wandering the streets on our way home, rather worse for wear, dropping bits of doner kebab meat and shouting "JIF NOT CIF! A little investigation has revealed that the NFL set up an American Football team in London for a while (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London_Monarchs) but it didnt really work out so they moved to Berlin.Kevin Farnell wrote:I was thinking 'I remember all of these', but was thrown by the south eastern train, and American footballer.
As for the train, I can answer you that being from that part of the world. After privatisation, the old Network SouthEast was broken up into various franchises, two of which, SouthCentral and SouthEast (the latter of which operated in Kent and the easternmost parts of East Sussex) were first operated by french company Connex. Connex gained the distinction of being the poorest performing rail franchisee in the country and (I think) were the first to be stripped of their franchises. I think it would have been more appropriate to have put an NSE train in there, but hey.

Thing is when it was called Marathon you asked for a Mrathon and you got a bar of chocolate with no confusion with the running race or the Greek city.Kevin Farnell wrote:Exactly!Garry Russell wrote:Quite right Kevin![]()
