New Classic Video from Avion

Post by DaveB »

Hi Guy's,

Those of you who are Avion customers will have already had an email listing their latest DVD's. I received it a week or so ago and cracked after viewing one of the 'tasters' available on their site :worried: . It arrived this morning and I've already watched it.. London Airport - Heathrow in the 1950's and 60's. What an absolute blinder!!! Heathrow in the 60's and 70's is a nice DVD but this is something else!! Loads of BEA in white top and Red Square, Eagle, Cunard Eagle (check out the COLOUR Viking footage), BKS, BOAC and much, much more. Vikings, Ambassadors, Argosy, Viscounts, Vanguards, Avro 748 2nd prototype in AVRO house colours, Britannias, Connies, DC6's, DC7's, DC3's, Stratocruisers.. and gallons more besides  The jet boys aren't fogotten either with plenty of footage of VC10's, 707's, 1-11's, DC8's, Caravelles, Trident's, 990 Coronados..

What can I say other than if you are of a certain age and like aircraft of a certain type, you'll love this DVD  Those not au fait with Avion, have a look on http://www.avionvideo.com for more details.

Funny thing Dave I was only looking at their site yesterday

I can't get the DVD sample though I get a page not found

Certainly lots of stuff for the more mature members to rekindle their memories.

There are a few stills that can be downloaded

Thanks for the HU

Hi Garry,

I think the video's open in Real Player mate

I couldn't believe the amount of colour footage of the Cunard Eagle and Eagle Vikings.. both on the move and in the air. Brilliant stuff if not a little coincidental considering what you're painting at the moment

Oooh Dave, you little beauty! :kissu:

I've been wondering what to get my dear old Dad for Christmas to go with his first DVD player!

I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't accidentally get copied on its way through chez speedbird ....

Cheers

Ian

Hiya

Dave

Yep it says Real player, which I have and I try to open but all I get is a page not found

Might be one of these temp things and will all be sweet later

A pity as that is one way I can get to see some of the clips

I'll try later in anycase.

I have more colour pics of Eagle than anything else for the Viking.

They seem to be popular at the time and perhaps easy to shoot when they were Blackbushe based.

Garry, try using Real Alternative. It's a basic program that opens real player files without having to have that awful program inflict your PC.

Available here

Thanks CB

I'll give it a go

I loaded up Real player and it took over everything

I can dump it and use this one instead now

Cheers

You are a biased young man Mr Bravo!!

You don't have to let RealPlayer take over everything (as will Media Player if you let it). It's no different from any other new program you load up in that it will presume you want it to handle everything. Be firm.. and just say NO!!

Glad you got to view them anyway Garry. If the prog is a lot smaller and that's all you want to use it for.. all power to it
