panel issue with the HJG 707 323 panel

Post by bigred1970 »

I was wondering if anybody else had this issue, every time I try to use the aircraft from the "create flight" screen in fs 2004 the program crashes but if I select another aircraft and then change to the 707 with that panel (it started when I installed this panel, the 707 worked ok before), it loads up fine, is this a panel config or aircraft config problem..... ? :worried:

Have you tried asking on the HJG forum

They have their panel problems threads on there

They are the people who make it so best place to ask

"BIGRED1970" .... as Garry has ppointed out this query should be posted on the HJG forum.

As an HJG representative and only because I note you've not yet posted your query on our forum I feel obliged to try'n help you here .... or at least get you started.

OK .... firstly the HJG B707/720 panels all run fine. I currently fly them all myself and without any issues whatsoever. I am however aware some folk have had difficulties though.

One thing you should be aware of is each of the HJG B707/720 panels is most compatible with "WINDOWS XP". The panel gauge set is not at all compatible with Windows 98 and will result in FS crashing as it attempts to load the aircraft/panel combbination. It won't crash loading the aircraft with any default or other panel though. Compatibility of the HJG B707/720 panels with other Windows versions is not garunteed .... in fact we've been given very little information by their author.

If problems persist with your HJG/CARTY B707/720 panel versions .... then you might want to consider investing in Paul GOLDING's B707 panel. Although this was produced for FS2002 I understand it runs fine in FS2004 too.

I don't recall its file name .... but .... if you were to type "GOLDING" or "PAUL GOLDING" in the search box on AVSIM.COM or FLIGHTSIM.COM libraries then you'll surely find it. From memory it's a 6-7MB dowmload.

FYI .... some time ago I posted an announcement of the HJG forum (entitled "B707 PANELS INSTALLATION - IMPORTANT NOTES")intended to try to assist folk with both B707/720 panel/aircraft management. You may be wise to review this. This information has been updated 3 times since June/July. It is constantly revised by me .... and was last updated on November 5th.

Be advised also these panels should be used exclusively with the FDE data contained within each of the downloadable Aircraft Base Packs. Doon't use earlier/older FDE data with these aircraft/panels or it may result in problems. The latest FDE updates are dated October 21st 2006. The latest B707/720 Panel and Gauge set revisions are also dated October 21st. Both panel and FDE must be matched with the correct aircraft for which they are intended .... or problems may result.

Please note the B707-323C panel is an exclusive AMERICAN AIRLINES type configuration (it features only 2 turbocompressors on the F/E panel)for use with HJG B707-323C American Airlines aircraft and B707-320C FDE data.

Hope that's a help under the circumstances.

May I request queries regarding these panels be posted on the HJG forum in future.

Thanks !
