I started late ..... I was 20 before I had enough dosh to get from 2 wheels to 4.

Here they are:

Ford Cortina Mk2
Triumph Herald 1250
Vauxhall Cresta 2.3
Datsun Sunny 120Y - my first brand new (forces tax free) car
Triumph Dolomite 1850 HL - new
Morris Ital 1300 - new
Morris Marina 1300 Auto
Morris Ital 1800 Estate Auto - new
Renault 16
Triumph Dolomite 1850
Audi 100
Triumph 2.5 PI
Audi 100
Fiat Strada (downsize - divorce......)
Lancia Beta
Triumph Acclaim
Mitsubishi Lancer - new
Nissan 180
Mitsubishi Carisma
Vauxhall Sintra - a bag of nails
Mitsubishi Space Star
Renault Scenic 1.6 Sport
Nissan Micra - second car
Hyndai Getz - second car
Renault Scenic Dyn 1.6 - picked up today!!!

Best fun of the bunch? The triumph Herald, absoloute gem, real fun motoring.

Worst? The Sintra. It was a lovely comfortable 7 seater car, ideal for my electric chair etc but the computer kept on giving rogue messages, "brake failure", "no oil" etc and we got so fed up that we got rid as fast as we could.

Just got back in from Glasgow an hour or so ago, having had to drive through a heavy snow storm. The surprise was that the snow settled quite quickly - the dash outside temp gauge showed -1C. As usual everyone was puttering along at 30 mph because there was half an inch or os of snow - yes really - on the roads. Villages looked rather Christmassy, all we needed were a few carol singers.....................

Chevrolet LUV Pickup Truck
Mazda B2200 Pickup Truck
Mazda Frontier Pickup Truck

What did you expect from a Texan? My truck is my space. After 20+ years of marriage it still feels kinda weird if the wife or kids/young adults ride with me in my truck. ;-) I won't discuss the "cars" we've owned.

A motley crowd during 30+ years of driving

1957 Morris Minor (split windscreen, 848cc)
1964 Ford Anglia Van (got knicked so...)
1966 Ford Anglia Van (with 1.5GT Cortina engine :dancer: )
1962 Ford Cortina Mk 1 Estate
1968 Austin 1100
1975 Renault 5
1979 Talbot Horizon 1.5
1980 Rover SD1 3500 V8 :dancer:
1982 Talbot Horizon 1.5
1987 Vauxhall Astra 1.4
1989 Vauxhall Astra 1.6
1990 Vauxhall Cavalier 1.6
1992 Vauxhall Cavalier 2.0
1994 Ford Mondeo 2.0
1998 Vauxhall Vectra 2.5 V6 :dancer:

The hot Anglia van was a project while at university - kept getting stopped by the police on the M1 out of curiosity.
The Rover cost a bomb to run but was impressive.
The Vectra is going to be mine for as long as it keeps going - 4000 miles a year these days because working from home so not worth changing

And my wife has had:
1982 Austin Mini 850
1994 Vauxhall Tigra 1.4

She keeps them a long time!

Toyota Hi-Lux (not in the UK ;-) )
Some sort of Nissan...cost 150 quid and ran without a fault for nearly two years.

My present vehicle, as some of you will know, is a 1981 LHD VW T25 Westphalia Joker2 Campervan, in a rather fetching bright green and rust ;-)

Ok, here is my list:

1959 Ford Consul car I learnt to drive with.
1960 Chevrolet Corvair - the Ralph Nadar special "Unsafe at Any Speed"
1964 Triumph Herald
1970 Chevrolet Camaro SS/RR - very impractical but soooo much fun. Of course Petrol was 39 cents a gallon back then.
1979 Pontiac LeMans
1985 Mecury Marquis - yuck, was a Company car so I really can't complain.
1993 Honda Accord
1997 Honda Accord both Accords are the most reliable cars I have owned.

I tend to drive them untill the wheels fall off. Incidentally I finally sold the Camaro in 1985 and sold it for more than I originally paid for it new.
