Yes mate.. she's outside a few feet away from DG's nose next to the Strat chamber. They oiked her outside so that the Roe (the new build one they hope to get off the ground) could be shown for display

She flies a bit strangely and could do with some wake effects and water sound:-

She can launch and recover on the beach :)

Hello Peter

I noticed the lack of wake as well - so I tool the wake effect from the Grumman Widegeon and added it - seems to work find
the only flying charachteristic I found odd is you would expect the thing to come to a grinding halt as soon as power is removed
with all the parasite drag but it doesn't :dunno:

The turns are not right...The slip or skid seems wrong on the "Ball" thingy and the rudder does not push the ball in as it should. Even the FS "Autorudder" produces ball deflection, which it shouldn't. I could do with feeling the wind on my face to fly turns in this properly. Even a simple "Woolley" would do! Yes Leif, I do have some suitable wakes that I can use for it and I also have some excellent water sounds :flying:

Hi Chris

The wings are there I think it's just a temp move

There are about five other Vikings in existance so not quite so desperate

She looks very good compared to when she was in a tatty unrealistic grey finish.

A lot of work has been done by the looks of it.

Yup.. we still have the wings.. they're lying against the wall in the Wellington hangar. I have a feeling that the 'Roe' will find a permanent display place elsewhere.. possibly purpose built.. which suits me as I'd really like to see Vagrant back indoors :) Of course.. the Wellington hangar is about as ideal as a tent for storing aircraft as there are so many holes in it but while it's cold and damp, at least the aircraft inside are not getting rained on ;-)
There were moves afoot to pull the Wellington hangar down and replace it with one of the original Vickers/BAC hangars which at the time was in a much better state of repair. However.. due to the age of the hangar, there immediately became a H&S issue (yes, those folk again). While they were happy for it to be up, they were not happy for it to be pulled apart and reassembled :-( It's historic in it's own right (as far as I'm concerned) as it is the last Vickers hangar standing (I don't include the Strat or Acoustic chambers) and was last used 'Live' as a mockup area for prospective buyers to view various choices of interior fit (dummy VC10/1-11/Viscount fuses kitted out in a selection of schemes). We'll see. A nice new hangar.. while undesireable, would be better for the exibits. Pity they can't build a new one 'around' the old one leaving the old one in place :)
