Hi Bob,
I had Vista until Windows 7 was released last year and can tell you there are no issues with the fuel gauges on the latest release of the trident and Vista to the best of my knowledge. First two questions...
1. Have you downloaded the current version of the trident from DM's website? This is the only place with official releases.
http://www.dmflightsim.co.uk
2. If you have the latest release from DM, have you started the sim with the default aircraft (i.e. the tike thingy) and then changed to the trident? If not, setting other addon aircraft as default when the sim launches can cause gauges to behave strangely, not just on the trident, but lots of other aircraft.
Let us know how you get on

Hello Ben
No, I downloaded from one of the other flightsim sites, can't remember which one now. So I tried starting FSX with the default hang glider and then selecting the Trident. Afraid with the same results, Fuel Gauges on zero. I think that the best thing I can do is re-download from the DM site and start again. Just one question, presumably I have to download the panel and sound files seperately. I ask because I remember that the file I did download was just one file with all included.

HI Bob
Dump all you have and re download the seperate files as it is from DM's site
That is the only way to be sure you have a matching set up with others here

Hi Bob..
Yes mate.. you download the bits you want/need. Can't remember just how many there are for the Tridents but definitely the panel and model come in separate downloads.. perhaps the sound too but I really can't be sure about that
Late edit.. yup, good advice Garry
Further edit: 5 zips in all but you may not want all of them. The T2 is one file, the T3 is another (so choose either or both) +.. the panel is another and likewise the sound. The 5th is an AI pack

I thank all you chaps for your quick replies. I have downloaded the files from DM. Later I will remove my existing Trident and re-install. Will post of the results.
Thanks again for your interest.
I had some problems with the VC10 too but that's another story. I will try to get my Trident working first.
Just an interesting point. I live in a small village near Salisbury Wilts UK. Just down the road from my house is a retired BEA/BA pilot. He flew Tridents and what's more he was the pilot that flew the Trident that did the first Autoland at Heathrow Airport. He is now 88 years old and loves to tell of his Piloting days.

Ah.. would that be Capt Eric Poole by chance??
Re the VC10 install.. I take it you've read Ben's 'Installing DM's aircraft in FSX' thread? While aimed at the 1-11, it covers others and other problems that have cropped up

The retired pilot is Captain R A Treadaway.
I have re-installed from the correct DM files. The problem with the fuel gauges is now corrected, no problem there and the aircraft flies OK. I now have a problem with the sound even though I have replaced the files in the panel folders with the FSX ones. On the take off run I get the V1 and rotate call-outs but then all is quiet. I wonder what I have done wrong this time?

Hi Bob,
What files have you replaced in the panel folders? As far as I recall no files need to be replaced
RE the sounds, do you get the engine sounds etc, or only the call outs?

Ben
This is a copy of the Readme:
Because of the folder structure change, to get the extra cockpit sounds you need to replace some of the files inside the panel folder.
The FSX folders for the Trident panels are :-
'\SimObjects\Airplanes\DMFS Shared Files\HS121 Trident Panel'
'\SimObjects\Airplanes\DMFS Shared Files\HS121 Trident Panel VC FSDS3'
The FSX versions of 'panel.cfg' & 'DM_Trident_sound.ini' are held in the 'Replacement files for FSX' subfolder.
I only get the call outs. By-the-way I have tried with the replacement files and without them. Same results.
