Oh yes. Don't worry, he did report it to the police and he now has a new bank account. I don't know if the police were able to do anything about the launderers.

I thought it was interesting, as you imagine that these things are all about stealing your money after getting access to your account, but this was more subtle.

I wonder what would have happened if he had withdrawn their money. A visit to his door from Smersh methinks!
