Hi Toby

sorry for not getting back to you quickly

I did read it and just forgot to reply (do it in a minute) as i tell the wife :worried:

I'm almost fixed now.

FS9 is being a Git as it's slower on a new clean install than it was on the old messy bugged up one :dunno:

I can't get AS6 to look as good as it did now either.
Keep getting CTDs in FS that i never got before

Regards
Rick

Looks great, im in need of somewhere to fly GA in and out

Just a question though, those grass textures look like they would stick out like a saw thumb, especially in winter. will you be creating some seasonals? (and night for that matter)

Either way, great stuff!

Hi Fred,

Since I have the VFR scenery now and attempt to make mine compatible with it, I tend to mainly work towards getting it looking right for Summer. I do do night textures where possible however and I do seasonal textures for trees.

A lot of that grass will get covered up with more trees and buildings. Since the seasonal variation is that great (assuming we get some rainfall in summer and not half as much snow as M$ seem to believe in winter!!).

The grass texture you see is infact about my third or fourth, each getting progressively darker. In reality, its way to dark for real grass, as are the VFR textures. For some reason, for which I have not yet fathomed, trees and grass do appear much darker at a distance than up close, probably in the case of the former, something to do with the amount of light coming to us through the leaves perhaps, but of course FS graphics engine cannot reproduce subtleties like that and so you have to make do with one thing or another.

From my three years in the UK I did not notice any difference between summer and winter in terms of vegiation. Granted I lived in London and there was not much vegitation to watch, and in those three years we only got snowed on once. So is there really a difference?
