The FSX version will have "proper" glass. Also a rework of the VC to add smooth hi-res gauges built into the model.
The BEA paint will also appear. This should retro-fit the FS9 model without too much trouble. :smile:

Hi DG.

I don't fly the Rapide that often, but think its pretty good as is. So I for one will look forward to it.
I have to say Its very easy for everyone in the FS community to say that FSX isn't this or that, but if all the developers continued in FS9, FSX wouldn't get any better. Sure FSX might be clunky on older hardware, but thats always going to be the nature of the beast with a new product. Only by participating in it can we make it better. Nothing ever got made better with folk sitting on the other side of the wall complaining. :smile:

i liked it before, the only improvement would be higher res gauges in my opinion without asking for way too much (build in active camera, a config editor, choice of pilots and 300fps...) :wink:

if you add hi-res smooth gauges would it be possible to make it backwards compatible like rick's new chippy? that would be just superb.

The problem with making it backwardly compatible, is there are a lot of differences between the two formats.

The method of making smooth gauges for FS9 doesn't work in FSX and the way of doing it in FSX makes the gauges jerky in FS9. :roll:

Ricks Chippie is an FS9 model that works well in FSX.

I could update the Rapide as an FS9 model, but the main purpose of the exercise is to produce a full FSX model and get my head around the new SDKs. :brick:

Well, I was going to suggest improving the edge between the VC panel bit map and the aircraft frame with a bit of padding or something but having looked at the pictures at :- http://users.skynet.be/BAMRS/dh89/dh89-en.htm#pics
it seems that the current look is pretty accurate!

Not sure what the device is just to the right of the throttle / mixture levers is in this pic....

Otherwise : Steps up to the rear of the wing when the engines are stopped, brakes on and door open?

Its hard to improve when something is as good as this.
