Hi mgchristy

The MAAM Viscount reg was never in Capital service.

It was built for as a V.745D Capital but it was one of the cancelled batch

It was converted to a V.798D as N6591C for Northeast Airlines

It only wore N7471 when acquired by the Museum and painted in Capital livery and no other Viscount wore that reg..........so I afraid your father could not have flown on that reg in service.

Hi Garry,

Oh well...thanks for clarifying! Looks like my dad's memory is as hazy as his vision. :lol: History is so much more enticing when there's a tangible link to the past. I guess his old age and sentimentality sometimes overrule rational statements.

Regardless, I think I'll just let him live out his years living under the false assumption that it was indeed "his" plane.

If Mr. Piper ever wishes to add a VC to his magnificent Viscount series, I'd be more than eager to snap a few photos (ducks and runs away REAL fast....)
