Brilliant! Well done, Garry!
In fact, no sooner had I completed my course than we were on a six-week strike. The Union very cleverly made it so that we only refused to work ex-Base. Otherwise crews on overseas slips would pretty soon find themselves kicked out of hotels with no allowances. It only took a few days before all the aircraft and crews were back home in London. Except one. A VC10 flew a round trip between Hong Kong and Tokyo every day with the same crew while everybody else was back at home. When the strike finished, the first few days all the flights were positioning crews back out again before they could fly passengers. No problem, though - no shareholders to worry about! Not many passengers, either!
I don't think
this summer's strike will have such a civilised outcome
Anyway - shouldn't be too much trouble to re-create that event in flightsim

You know what has surprised me here regarding realism..........The absence of our Dan, I fully expected him to come up with 'It would be even more realistic with a VC'!! :@
Now hiding!! :lazy:
Nigel.

Hi,
that was it.. impossible to either takeoff or land.. FR's at 7 and below
not with my Heathrow or ?
Some time ago I made some trials with substituted AI ( Trident, VC 10, BAC 1-11 ) for the Calclassic 62 traffic
and I had framerates of 19 +
Best Regards
Wolfgang

Hi Wolfgang
Hope you're getting over that injury ;-)
No mate.. even with your LHR, the end result was unflyable.. very pretty but unflyable. The BOAC and BEA timetables (available here in the Members Forum) are extensive.. too extensive for my system using non-dedicated AI models of the VC10, Trident, 1-11 and Argosy :-( My system just isn't up to that degree of reality I'm afraid

Wolfangs LHR is '61 vintage and the oldest CalClassic collection is '62 mate so it's very much a rock and a hard place. It's either '61 LHR or the default or one of Gary Summons 'modern' versions (ok.. or Aerosofts LHR2008 too) so compromise is the order of the day. Whichever way you look at it.. there isn't a LHR which fits the VC10, Trident or for the most part, the 1-11.. mores the pity ;-)

I'd be a bit wild and go perhaps for a '72. RS would've gone by then (68 onwards) but BOAC was still (just) BOAC. OK.. '68 then
