To be honest, my experience of living in the South of England is that for most of the year, the grass is green, except for a couple of weeks in the Summer when its too hot and dry and its yellowy-brown and maybe a couple of days in the Winter when you mighjt get a light dusting of snow. This of course assumes that your lawn is indeed made of grass, and not a combination of anthills, clover, moss, dandelions and daisies like ours

Hi Toby,
I have been working on a Brooklands scenery for the last 9 months, but i am wondering if I am wasting my time. How are you progressing with yours? The difficulty lies with getting good photos of the factory as it was in the sixties.
Why can't I be satisfied with things as they are instead of trying to improve them all the time. Then I would have more time to fly.

Hi,

I got quite a few images and a book but since I dont have much spare time any more and the software I was using wont run under Vista, I have ground to a halt. I have been sending my files over to Ben (one of the admins) to see what he can do with it. Do you have a screenshot of your progress thus far?

Hi Toby,
I will send a screen shot within the next week. I had a lot of buildings in place but somehow managed to annoy EZ-Scenery and I am now trying to sort it out at the moment. Thanks for replying.
Regards David

Hi Toby,
I have some screenshots ready but I can't work out how to post them. Can you or somebody else please tell me how to do it.
Thanks Dave

Hi Dave,

2 options... you can upload them to a photo site of you choosing and post the links between [img] tags

or send me a pm and I'll arrange to upload them for you.

No problem either way. If you've any problems let me know. :)

Hi Dave,

Easiest and quickest way is to use the excellent image hosting service by Rob aka 'Happy Otter' over at http://www.classicbritishfiles.com/ aka 'The Pond', hence 'Otter's Pond'. Just look at the menu on the left and you will see a link 'Image Hosting'. Click on it and you will get 5 'browsing' options to select the images you want to have hosted. When you have selected your images hit the 'start upload' button and wait for the upload to complete. When upload is completed you will see a thumbnail of each of the images as well as 3 links for you to copy and paste (I use notepad to save the target url's) for you you to use later. Just heed the limitations/restrictions regarding file sizes and also any message board size limitations - e.g. cbfsim restrict images to max 800 width. To make things more friendly for dial up users and also help Rob's bandwidth, I would suggest that you make sure images are cropped and compressed to an acceptable level before uploading them. I crop any image I want first, then I save it as .jpg format using a graphics editing prog (I use Paint Shop Pro) but then I open the image in mspaint and resave. That last little trick reduces the file size considerably. It couldn't be easier.

Thanks to rob for this excellent service.

Ben & John,
Gentlemen. Thank you for your help. I hope that I have done this correctly and that you can link to my images.
Any images of Brooklands in the sixties or seventies will be a great help to me. I have been trying to get a high resolution
copy of the image that TobyV posted on May 27 2006. The aerial photo of Brooklands.
Thanks again Dave.

Thats looking pretty good! I have 78mb worth of images of Brooklands I have collected including a larger version of that aerial pic. The question is how best to send you some! I hadnt got as far as texturing those particular buildings though I had got a very nice racing clubhouse finished. Hopefully if Ben shows up on MSN soon I can send him my scenery and he can get some screenshots of that so you can see where I got to!
