Yo Dave
On my Freighter in the chooser you should see one aileron tab up and the other down plus the rudder trim hard over one way.
That's because those parts are key frame animated rather than stock animation and that is the position of the zero key frame.
The 748 rudder tab show in a similar fashion
I think that zero position on that display is why some aircraft show with doors and steps but the wheels up as the undercarriage is fully retracted at zero.
Hope my Freighter doesn't have the wheels up

Hi Joe..
I've just uninstalled the final beta (add remove progs) and downloaded/installed the release model so I have the same as J Public

Having done a few ccts and watched them replayed through FSX (play last 60 secs).. I'm seeing both sets of flaps deployed correctly mate so I have no idea what's happening on your rig (not that I had any idea anyway)

You might have the 'Florida' version which swings both ways!
Do you have system failures setup in FSX?? I think it's 'off' by default so if you haven't fiddled, it shouldn't be on. Not really sure if it could simulate only one set/side of flaps working anyway

If it was a simulated assymetric failure then the aeroplane would roll over and crash I would think......somehow I can't see this being a failure

Thought I'd throw in a "Very well done chaps" specificaly to Bian but also to Jim, Trev, Rick, Dave, Dyl, Ben & Neil. I think this is a worthy tribute to the aircraft herself and all those who served in her and were involved keeping her flying.
Many thanks guys and Happy Christmas to you all, best of luck for the new year as well
Re the flaps problem airboatr's having, they work fine up here in deepest Angus, but I'm finding the rudder doesn't move when you steer her, kite still turns corners though

I'm going over my setup with a fine toothpic, probably something i've done and not the model herself..
Gordon
PS cheers to Simshed for hosting as well.

HA!

speak for yer own flying abilities.

.....I land Vanguards at Bradshaw...going in,

down the hill

.
As for the assymetric flap failure, it is still out for testing since it's not consistantly happening. I do have , and this is mostly / nearly all of the time, both flaps down,
So I'll have to stay in the pattern and keep an eye out.
... See the funny thing is I think the first time I noticed it, the right that was down and left up. Truthfully it doesn't matter really, ..it flys
Which brings me to Daves suggestion that I have some

Florida version that goes both - ways?.... Uhh - Nooooooo... same Download link as everyone else Dave.,, Although...
I have to admit , there are some here who, if it
were to snow in Florida, have dogs that would make snow fairys instead of snow angles. If you get my meaning.
right , more flap on the flaps to come.

Hi Gordon
That's how it's modelled mate. You get to see the nose gear turn when on the deck and as soon as weight is off the main gear.. the rudder will animate

I don't know if would make any difference but I don't have 'autorudder' enabled

Joe..
Are you seeing this happen IN THE SIM or only on playback?

I believe it was real time Dave, thats why I played it back and btw why I got behind on the power as I got caught watching the paint dry (as we say) noticing that only
one flap was down.
Also I do have engine failure set to an hour, but thats it.
Well I did I'll have to go back and check now, I had it on flting the DA-42

OK Joe.. I'll go and see if I can break it. My startup is now Wake Island so FSX will load on the same day I opened it

I spent a lot of time checking on the flaps, but did not see anything wrong with the animation in the later beta versions at all.
From other forums, I see I was not alone in not having any smoke, I wonder if it is an XP thing? All windows 7 users are fine! Is anybody else using XP and getting four nice thick plumes on full power??
