You can check it out in the free demo
Tony is calling up FS repaint and using it to check progress........he is actually painting in Paint Shop Pro which is linked from within FS Repaint.
Painters use it to check but not for the actual painting.

Ah, sorry Garry, I was under the impression that Tony uses it to the full. Yep, I have the demo now and have been fiddling around with it. Looks very useful indeed, being able to instantly see how it loos on the model !

Sri mate.. I'd not considered Mk8's out of civvie use. In the shot you've posted, it certainly looks bare metal but as that airframe was kept by HP.. it probably had a 'charmed' life
I'm lucky in that when doing (considering doing even) the Halton's.. I had at my disposal one of the Vanguard crew who remembers Falkirk very well as it was the first airframe he worked on as an apprentice engineer with BOAC in '47. From his memory, none of the BOAC Haltons were ever bare metal when in airline service ;-) I have a picture of him and No.1 line staff standing in front of Fleetwood at Bovingdon in '47 and she looks very much painted

Yes, it could well be she was the
only bare metal one, Dave. Good that we have a colour photo of her, eh ?
As for Falkirk, if she wasn't bare metal, I wonder if she had that same silvery-grey paint that the Duxford HP Hastings now sports ? Same manufacturer, same era, and it would explain her 'metallic' appearance in black-and-white photos and footage.

Ok I need to get this sorted out.
I do use it to the full, what FSR does is let YOU decide what paint prog you want to edit with within FSR, so you CAN do metal textures within FSR by using photoshop or paintshop pro or what ever you use, read on line guides and there are a few re painting. It can be a bit snobby painting and some folk feel that your crap if you use FSR, well its not the case, FSR saves time helps as already said line up awkward textures etc and I would not work without it.
I can do in FSR as in any other method of painting.

Exactly Tony
And we use it to line up and check etc
But if we did not have PSP or Photoshop to link to from within, it would be of limited use on it's own as the actual painting is done in the linked programme.

Agreed, FSR has a very poor paint prog built in, anyone using it would need a stand alone paint prog to get the best results, fortunately FSR allows you to do this quite easily

Honestly I use it for checking my repaints too. V2. has the advantage that it displays most of the FSX planes.
For repainting I use Photoshop. Ok, I use FSRepaint for helping to identify certain parts for repainting or the alignment of elements. It is a great tool outside of FSX.
