Anyone use Abacus' FS Repaint at all ?
I've been studying a repainting tutorial in the current issue of Computer Pilot, and the author, Garry J Smith recommends it.
http://www.gjsmith.net/Tutorial/tutorials.htm
Just wondering if anyone here uses it, or has more information on it ? I notice it says " FS Repaint can be used to change a vast majority of the aircraft that are now available for FSX and FS2004..." Why 'vast majority' and not 'all' models ?

Thanks for any info, folks

Hi Paul
I like most painters use it to check progress but it is NOT a serious worthwhile repainting programme in it's own right. I personally don't know anyone who uses it to actually paint.

Yes, thats what made me curious about it, Garry. It never gets a mention in here, and I wondered why.

Hi Paul
It has been discussed here in the past but as I mentioned above it's real value is to check progress.
The usual paint programmes do everything so much better. It is OK for quite change gawdy fictional stuff but serious painters wanting to add great detail will use PSP, Photoshop and the like.

I do use it Paul....but only for checking my work....and it doesn't show DDS textures....so you cannot see true FSX textures in this program.... ;-)
Not bad for instantly seeing those errors...

Exactly Tony
As mentioned above most of us use it for checking only

Hi Paul..
Concur with Garry/Tony. A useful tool for checking (FS9) without having to open Fsim but not as a paint program.. not even for someone as poor as me!
You can download the demo and have a look ;-)

Thanks all, for the info so far. Actually, now you come to mention it, I think I have the demo somewhere...it rings a bell for some reason.
The Catalina is inspiring me to learn how to paint, but I'm finding it so difficult to concentrate for long enough. Age, I suppose. :-(
