Incidentally.. one of the Vanguard crew IS on one of the Ian Allan flights.. and I HATE him!

I'm so glad they've done it properly, unlike G-AWNA which was a part job, although the cost or paint on a 747
This will be BA's longest serving type

....that is if you count the present 747-400 as a completely different type to the 100/200 which it is.
They've certainly had their money's worth over the years
They sometimes went to Jersey lifting 188 with barely half the runway......certainly shorter than a One-Eleven's distance.
Anyone familiar with Jersey and the large ob deck..starting at the West end, airborne before the terminal and such a steep climb, never went behind the tower.
