If you can find a 748 anywhere that had "clean flaps" other than before its first flight you'd be doing well, so no, there aren't any "clean" flap texture as they weren't clean in real life

As for the "fine pitch", I assume that this has a small braking effect? It certainly seems to have an effect compared to only using the brakes.

Yes it will have a slowing effect. The 780 has larger props and the reverse feature which mean it can stop VERY quickly indeed. Also you'll notice that on the 780 the pitch lock has an extra positionwhich is where full reverse can be engauged.

I told you at the begining of this thread the 748 didnt have reverse in real life nor does Ricks Model - Hitting the f2 puts the props into beta
(superfine) pitch which essentialyl makes the propellor disk a flap plate which creates a lot of drag. I hope that makes things clear.
I also hope you dont try and fly Garry Russells Britannia when its released, Otherwise you will have to learn all about Superfine and Brakedwell
just to taxi it As to landing 748s on "nice long runways" It was an excellent short field performer - just ask the Skyways pilots who operated
it from Lympne on short grass runways.

With the fine pitch activated, I can now stop the plane on runways of 4000 feet. That is good enough for my purposes.

Yesterday I downloaded the new "FSX" version on this wonderful aircraft which I used almost everyday in FS9.
I noticed that the VC panel has " Two" holes, where there is a leak and "color fly by" making it almost impossible
to use since everything "shines and fly along them".....is there a fix for this or its my FSX alone?...I use accelerator.

Thanks....I am planning of using this plane for a Mission in Tibet but got to have the VC working fine.

The panel has been overhauled somewhat but it's still a lot for a one man crew doing the job of three or four :roll:

I think I have just experienced the same problem with the 748 in FSX. Try switching the lights on and off (using the "L" key). See if those missing parts of the panel appear.

Fraser....thats looking fantastic...our Mr R...(gawd bless him) will love that.....anything i can help with....limited knowledge mind....
