Ha, I beat Trev for once!

Looks nice, but I have to wait 8 hours until I can get home to actually fly it! :@

The VC pics certainly give the impression of the pilot's total vulnerability !! :o :o

I think Alphasim have a new advert writer - the very glowing report for this plane almost made me buy it !!!

Curses!!!!!
Still not sure I want it though, I seem to remember Farnborough having one during the war for anyalsis, perhaps an RAF re-paint will tip the balance ;-)

Thanks for that link Garry, fascinating stuff, I have never heard of the HS 129 being flown in the UK before.

The Germans had a similar flight operating allied aircraft.

Some of the German exhibits in the RAF Museum came from that unit and have RAF serials.

I love history....there's always little twists here and there :)

It looks really nice, but the price has gone up again :(

£21? Hmm.

The beautifully named "Wanderzirkus Rosarius"; any profiles you see of captured Allied aircraft with yellow undersurfaces are likely to be from that unit.

Of course, the Luftwaffe's KG200 also used captured aircraft, but they weren't used for evaluation or demonstration purposes!! Typical, you'd never catch the RAF doing anything like that - well, apart from the He 115 in the Med, and undoubtedly other aircraft elsewhere.

Somewhere I have seen a picture of the He 111, that is now at Hendon, in USAAF markings - bit academic really, as I seem to recall that it is an H-20, with the powered dorsal turret! :dunno:

I also seem to recall that a USAAF fighter group used an all black He 111 as a hack, can anybody help me out with this one?

Not heard of that one Andy  .....but I'll keep an eye open if no one else comes up with it first.

Another interesting twist.

Now I have seen the price :o , perhaps not!!! I would pay for an aircraft I would really want (Argosy CMk1, Britannia, Beverley and the like...some chance), but that is getting into serious money now :'( :'(
