I think this one already exists for the MaaM model Leif. I'm sure I have it somewhere

Hi Leif,

Still default at the moment although the 'dark side' is in the pipeline. Just need to get my head round the different models etc. MAAM could really do with some more options of their model variations to cater for the civilian operators. As per the default model you can't get the right model for the paints for most airlines. Cargo variation looks the way to go with most of them although the air vents on the fuselage spine haven't been texture mapped from what I understand. I'll plod on with the default for a while longer as I can knock them out quite quickly when I get the time. Also in the spirit of this forum which aims specifically for the freeware audience I'd rather give the freeware options first before I move onto the payware variation and to be honest I don't think the default is that bad an aircraft.

john i have seen three of the new models for Maam and they are good. ( passenger/cargo version ) they might be flying our way sometime soon. also some very nice chap posted me a book ( free of charge to me ) containing more irish DC3's. so i'll not have to poach any textures off you

Hi Dave,

The Cargo version seems best fit for UK operators, shame about the missing texture mapping of the vents. Would be nice to see a proper Pionair as well.

Hi Vegas,

Will be released with the rest of the fleet in due course :)

I can tell you this... If you should turn to the dark side, it will take more then Luke Skywalker for you to turn back :D

here you go john, just part of a reply that i had during my aer lingus repaint. after finding out the hard way about the vents.

If you are using the earliest C-47 model for this paint i.e. the BEA aircraft, which I think you are, then the bad news is that those vents are not textured, if I recall. This problem was sorted later with the subsequent C-47 models. Could you use one of those? You're not going to have any seats in there whichever model base you choose, but the latter would cover your problem. It's not really noticeable with the typical white or bare metal top, but your green shows the vents up, of course.

When my dear BETSY finally gets released, she will have C-47 doors AND seats in one of her (eight) model iterations. Soon, I hope... I just never have time to play .

so once it is released then the flood gates will open. until then your stuck with the cargo or passenger version. so i keep on learning to paint on the only canvas i have. :)

Hi Dave,

Thanks for that. I think I do have the latest version so I'll have a look for the vents when I get a chance. In the meantime here is HJ that I'm working on at the moment :
