Battle of Britain Day is today
What a shame BofB open days are not taking place in every county and RAF stations no longer open their gates to the public and that tomorrow almost no church parades will take place throughout the UK.
Perhaps this is one day when those in possession of the 'Veterans Badge' might wear that emblem.
I grew up to the sound of the Merlin engines of the Hurricanes and Spitfires operating from RAF Hornchurch.

It's a sad day when I find a very insightful article into the state of the RAF and our armed forces in Air Forces Monthly (it's a good read this month) on September 15th. Proud services that have been abused by countless polititians who have no inkling of the way they work and their ethos...

At least there's a good public reminder in my town centre today...
...exhibition stalls with veterans and ATC out in force.....that's one collection box that I have no hesitation in filling ;-)
