On that first pass with the gear down, I reckon if I'd been stood where his wingtip was closest to the deck during his turn he'd have hit my head! This clip from the other side of the runway shows how close he came to piling it in. I wonder if any of those French AF Mirage pilots freelance for TAP?

Loved it. What I'd call a 'Spirited' display  I have the 'Yes' Tristar dvd here somewhere and they give their pax a treat by flying LOW after takeoff on a sightseeing trip across some island or other before they gain alt and proceed enroute. Loonies!

I watched a British Airways BAC One-Eleven (G-AVMS) in a display once. He took off and after pulling up his wheels, flew the length of the runway before pulling up steeper that you could ever imagine a One-Eleven could :o

In fact there is a video floating arround of a Eurowings A.320 doing pretty much the same thing.

The low level here is one thing......remembering VC10 G-ARVM at White Waltham............but that turn where hopfully he had fitted roller skates to the wing tip just in case  .......sort of put it into the risky category.

But hey...it was fun :) and he got away with it :worried: , just hope the next guy doesn't try and out do him

I recall flying out from RAF Odiham in the back of a Chinook and we were fully loaded for the detachment and the loady came back and told us erks that we would be doing some VERY close formation flying and dropping to NOE for an airshow fly by !!!! I was impressed and bloody scared at the same time because we were LOW and FAST i nearly Cr***** my self...
And another thing that really sticks in my mind was an RAF Gatow families day when the wall was still up (Not many types to display :) ) a British Airways 737-200 did a sequence and to this day i have seen NOTHING compare to what he done.....Fast low level pass at bout 350 knots 15ft off the runway pulling almost straight up and the only time i have seen people gasp like that since is when the Typhoon nearly creamed in at Fairford !!!! I had photos but sadly over time they have disappeared but i have some of the LOW pass by the nook that i will dig out soon.....

Those light Aircraft were lucky they didn't get blown away by it - they looked close enough! :o
