SAS's Crash-8's sold?

Post by DanKH »

In light of the latest crash at EKCH yesterday afternoon (luckily no fatalities):

Rumours will know that SAS has sold the entire Crash-8 fleet to an anonymous person that goes under the name "OBL"

"We have no need for the landing gear anyway", OBL says...

Back to the studio...

EDIT: "This is of course a joke...."

Its scary Dan, Flybe have opperated the type for years without this sort of regular incident. it seems to be something specific to the SAS fleet?

Note that the Pilot has the right-hand engine on idle during decent. Nice landing in my opinion considering the situation

I'm sure there are a few 748 / F50 / SD360's they could have, looks like they don't build em like they used to.

TBH I think it raises more questions of SAS than the Q400... are there any other similar incidents of this time, where there have been so many isses with the same opperator?

[edit] Just Checked and Flybe are the world largest operator of the type, with nothing like the problems SAS have had. I wondering if it is an environmental or engineering problem? :dunno:

Lufthansa has had the problem, and I think ANA...?

Other than that I think it's very bad luck for SAS at the moment.... well I certainly hope.

Scandinavian (its formal name) has always been an airline of very high standards, and one of the pioneers within airline history, along side with airlines like BAW, I think Scandinavian has (at least had) on of the highest standards.... to see it ruined this way kind of touches something inside.....

First they split up to 4 separate companies: SAS.NO, SAS.SE SAS.DK and SAS international, which in my opinion was sad already, and now they are being struck whit these unfortunate incidents. Luckily though that there has been no fatalities.

I suppose they felt that they had to be seen to be taking action.

It would be difficult to get the passenger confidence back especially nowadays with incidents so widely publicised.

I must agree Dan, haven flown with SAS from Edinburgh to Stokholm a few times, they seem a very profesional airline, and I enjoyed the flights / service. To be fair, I can also say the same of Estonian Airlines (who I have flown with on 4 occasions, and in whom SAS have a large stake) very friendly professional bunch.

Scandinavian has a very strong reputation, but I wonder has the nraking up of the different units had any imput into this situation? Are the Q400's opperated by a specific division... i.e. like a commuter division?
