SQUADRON LETTERS

Post by steelsporran »

G'dday
Does anyone know of a list that identifies squadrons from their aircraft lettering? I thought it might be interesting to put numbers to all the footage we see on the history channel. It can be confusing, Wingcos and above were entitled to use their initials.
Incidentally I notice footage from the "Battle of Britain" film is creeping into docos, in particular, there's one plotting room scene shown in black and white!
Have a good one all.

Markings (on all sorts of aeroplanes) for each Sqn. Quite useful, and very interesting site. :)
