Eyepoint

Post by Paule »

Am working on a panel which currently has an eyepoint that is too low. The a/c has a nose wheel and I should be able to see the runway over the top of panel. Tried changing the eyepoint numbers in the aircraft config, nowt seems to happen. Next made a view section in the panel cfg and entered numbers for 'View forward eyepoint' still nuffin. Guidance definitely needed.

Did you reload the aircraft in FS after you adjusted the numbers in the aircraft.cfg file?

Hi Paule

Make sure you reload the aircraft again if it's your default saved flight aircraft otherwise the eyepoint won't change.

also remember long, lat, Vert for the coordinates

you can use combinanions of CTRL SHIFT - Backspace Enter to move the Eyepoint when flying.

Rick

Rick,
As DaveB says, its FS9 2D. These are the numbers in the a/c config View section:

[Views]
eyepoint=21.298720,-1.999262,8.004314//vert was -2.004314

The nums after the comment were the original figures.

Ta for advice so far.

Paul,

I think you are changing the wrong setting...Goto the panel.cfg file and change this value:-

VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=9.5, 0.0, 0.0

You just change the number in first position (in this case 9.5). This has the same effect in the 2D panel as SHFT+Enter or SHFT+Backspace but you can get finer adjustment by editing the number.

This is for FS9 and 2D panel :flying:

Peter

Thanks for that, have just tried -2,0,0 for a more nose down view. Still no change. I think the problem is my own fault as I adjusted the default view value of Y axis when I lowered the left side window. Decreasing Y to 3126 fixes the view but means I have to remake the left window area of main panel.

Paul...It is not actually possible to change that number and get no effect...Confirm that SHFT+Enter and SHFT+Backspace do move the horizon up and down...And confirm that you are changing the aircraft to something else and then back again to check the effect of changing that number.

Peter

I think I must have two or more settings in conflict, I can now see the runway (just) and it does respond to Shit Enter/backspace. If I was being marshalled out the marshaller would need to stand at the far end of r/w, otherwise I would run him over! These are my current values.

[VIEWS]
VIEW_FORWARD_DIR -10,0,0

[Color]
Day=255,255,255
Night=80,80,80
Luminous=120,120,120

[Default View]
X=0
Y=0
SIZE_X=8191
SIZE_Y=4126//5426 then 3326 is OK

You can have a copy of pnl config if u think it would help.

cheers
Paul
