Panels for FSX

Post by johnsmithe15 »

So far Im using Ricks HS748 in FSX with great success, I have downloaded all the versions of Davids BAC 1-11 and am using it with a DC9 panel.

I plan to download the Tridents and will have to use a basic three-holer panel which should at least make it flyable but I was wondering if just perhaps David had any plans to model these great panels for FSX, I really miss the detail and the superb functionality.

In defense of this request/ suggestion I would like to say that Ive discussed this with a lot of online pilot friends and it is obvious that MS FSX is here to stay and any subsequent versions of flight sim are likely to change even more from FS9.

I love flying the classic British models but it is a shame to have to use cobbled together panels, the one and only three holer panel is very sparse and not at all like the Trident panel.

As far as I am aware folks are using the existing panels in FS.X

I can confirm the BAC1-11 panel works fine (As far as I can tell) in FSX, not sure about the Trident, as I've yet to actually fly it!

I feel really daft now, I have not even tried the panels in FSX as I just assumed they would not work as most don't but I will give them a try right now. LOL

I think the panels have to use a more up to date coding in FS.X which is why some don't work

But these are OK :)

My god you are dead right, well Im as happy as a pig in the proverbial. The BAC 1-11 and Trident work perfectly as far as I can see. Might chance my arm and try the VC10 next.

I made the assumption based on the fact that the famous Probst panel for 727s does not work in FSX and given how detailed Davids panels are like the Probst panel I thought there was no way it would work.

I think the majority of probs occur with non-standard code (which M$ didn't help by moving the goalposts) and our guy's here do their level best to keep things as 'standard' as possible within the confines of the SDK. While this can't guarantee upward compatibility (given no one knows what M$ will come up with next..), it does mean that they're more likely to work than not ;-)

The VC10 has only a very small number of glitches, but in general it works just great.
