Trident departure

Post by forthbridge »

Hi all,

Hoping someone can give me a little departure advice for a loaded Trident. I've made a couple of return trips EGPH - LFMN, and I am really struggling with the departure from Nice (In other words getting airspeed to turn right (south) to head downwind parallel to 04R before setting course for 'Ecosse'....

Basically, the Aircraft is fine once I get the speed up for the climb, but, I cannot make the turn as quickly as todays' aircraft do, and need to wait before engaging the autopilot or the flight regime goes bananas. No doubt in real life the French authorities would be taking a dim view of a Trident at Full thrust above the promenade des anglais and turning a stone's throw from the castle!

Is it a little unrealistic to expect the Trident to be as lively at that weight?

Everyhthings trimmed out as per - I suppose it's just that I'm not making a straight out departure that's causing the problems....

I was loaded with maximum fuel: burn was 15% when I reached FL310.
