British Aerobatic Championships - Duxford 29 June 2008

Post by Kevin Farnell »

Went along to the British Aerobatic Championships at Duxford, today. My membership of 'Friends of Duxford' allowed me free entry.
A good day out, but such a shame that there is no British Aircraft represented.
As most of the action was taking place to the south of the airfield, and the aircraft tiny, I was limited to landing and ground shots (even using a 70-200mm lens with a 2X converter).
The weather was good, if somewhat windy.

Anyway, here are the pics....

And the Winner is....

Just to balance up the 'Britishness', I noticed that the flaps had been lowered on the Trident.
I decided on a few close-ups, for those of us that like that sort of thing.

A nasty case of asymetric flap deployment...

And finally, this is looking in a pretty sorry state at the moment...

If the aeros were as good as your photos Kevin then I'd say you had a pretty good day. I do like the ones of that Yak-52 - thanks for posting those :D

Cheers

Thanks, guys!!!

I had an excellent day :) .
The weather was warm if a little windy. The sun shone and I got a light tan (Pink?, no no, my face isn't pink. It's a tan!)
I saw 2, 2 seat Spitfires, a Tiger Moth and a Dragon Rapide. Nowhere else on the planet will you get that.

Duxford always throws in something special.

Cheers

Kevin
