Having listened to the video this isn't the display authorisation, she'll be at Waddington but only in the static, she's been given permission to "organise their flight to join the RAF Waddington airshow" not display.

Hi Chris

I see your point.....the caption says

"The world's only airworthy Vulcan bomber has been cleared to fly in its first ever airshow this weekend".

Still it's a step in the right dirtection. :)

Hmm.. that clearly says 'cleared to fly in it's first ever airshow' but that was the BBC so anything could happen  They obviously have no idea about 558's history otherwise they'd know that all it did prior to being retired was do the airshow circuit :brick:

Whatever.. as you say Garry, it's a step in the right direction ;-)

Yep, still unclear as to how she will participate. I'm sure there are many rumours floating around - full display, static display, flypast, flypast with the Reds, flypast with the Queen on board, display with the Queen on board, live bombing demonstration with authentic nuclear mushroom clouds...

I sincerely hope it's not just a static display at Waddington even though I won't be going. When you've seen one Vulcan on the deck.. you've seen em all :-(

It seems from other forums it will just we a ground exhibit..but of course it will be a kanding and take off thrown in.

Some quarters say the aircraft is now cleared but not the crew. :dunno:

Still a step up the ladder as before it was been where it had to be and people had to go see it..nowit is visiting the crowd.

Only a matter of time as the paperwork is in progress :)
