Ho Alex

Sorry mate :$

I hope it hasn't flown like that :$

It's a montrosity  .especially the so called BOAC side

What's with this modern trend of painting unsuitable types in old classic liveies???

Owww :-( , I didn’t mean to cause offence. I really do rather like it. :$

Admittedly to my untrained eye I can't vouch for it’s accuracy (and by that I mean the scheme itself and not the aircraft it’s applied to!! )

Certainly, to my mind it’s much better than the usual mundane GA stuff and the reasons stated for its inception seem worthy.

Perhaps if it was applied with a little more attention to detail? :dunno:

No offence Alex

It could have been natural aluminium on the bottom or light grey for both not that awful silver fox :$

But I have a hate of either the wrong aircraft of the right aircraft wrong livery

What has Cherokees got to do with the service fleets of BEA or BOAC?

The Eagle DC 6 for example is wearing a livery designed for a natural metal bottom and that grey looks all wrong.

The Air France and KLM were so bad I couldn't look at them.

I'm just one of those do it properly or not at all types  .

I like it, a lot.

I can see why they didn't leave the bottom in natural Aluminium as it's a corrosion problem, especially if it's not 100% aluminium. If the BA aero club want to keep their heritage alive by painting their aircraft up in pseudo appropriate schemes then it seems a good idea to me, rather than dressing them all in the same bland of the moment BA scheme. As neither airline actually ever flew the Piper Cherokee I can't see how it's wrong per se.

Well, I like both the schemes. The club has flown the Cherokee for as long as I can remember
