Re: Top Gear this week
I suppose we will get that episode eventually on this side of the pond and I can't wait to see it!
I thought the episode where they brought used junker cars and drove from Miami to New Orleans was one of the best ever. In Alabama, they painted slogans on each other's cars like "Hilary for President", "Country Music and NASCAR suck" and so on - I about split my gut laughing.

Re: Top Gear this week
I saw it on Sunday
.
Clarkson, Hammond and May each arrived in a two seat Spitfire. They then 'buzzed' the Germans (they arrived in a big Merc, BMW and a Porsche), who were standing around saying 'Zey are late!' 'Vere are zey?'
The whole plot, was enormously entertaining, whilst being extremely pro-British (from the BBC perspective). I would love to see the German version and hope that they equally treated 'us Brits'.
As usual, Clarkson went at it like a 'bull at a gate' and probably lost more points than the other three (er, no I mean two - well done James May
) together.
Well worth watching
Regards
Kevin

Re: Top Gear this week
Sounds like it'll definitely be one to watch.
BTW, which 3 of the 5 2-seaters in Europe were the ones used? I know it definitely wasn't MT818 as it's down for an engine swap. It would be interesting to know when becuase it'd time the filming since of the remaining 4, the Grace Spitfire and HFL Spitfire were both grounded after undercarriage incidents during the Spring so it would have had to been before that.

I thought the best bit of that was when the Stigs American cousin first appeared..... remember howling with laughter at the size of him.nigelb wrote:I thought the episode where they brought used junker cars and drove from Miami to New Orleans was one of the best ever.
