I installed fsx today with sp1(sp2 causes texture/performance problems for me)and have been trying to install my favourite aircraft the DM bac 1-11.I have had a go with the instructions on David Maltbys site which has helped somewhat with the sound but I still have a vc texture problem. The main panel/overhead panel are there but the side panels /throttles/seats etc are missing textures.
I have searched the forum but come up empty,if someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong I would be most grateful as without the 1-11 this could be a very short layover in fsx!
regards Jim

I also have this problem with the 111 and have been unable to solve it. I have the same problem with the HS748 so will be very interested if anyone has a fix.

Re: bac 1-11 in fsx
Right
neither of the models are made for FSX
also there are too many people demanding FSX rebuilds and that will not be happening as people that don't model completely miss the point that the model has to be rebuilt
and not just run through a new compiler.
the 1-11 & 748 have a dozen threads on how yo make them work in FSX so you need to look for them
I posted a FSX compatible 748 3 days ago in the 748 support thread in New Releases & Support - Members Only!
there are 3 guides there too for getting the 1-11 to work in FSX so you need to dig a little

Re: bac 1-11 in fsx
Hello Rick, I for one am most definitely not 'demanding' any rebuild for 1-11 or 748 fsx compatibility ,just asking if other users have any ideas on how to make the original BAC 1-11 run in fsx, thats all.Thank you for your suggestion to look in 'members only' but that did not bring up anything either for some reason.I have also gone back through the main cbfs forum to roughly the release date of fsx and not found anything of help with my problem.I assume I am missing something for which I apologise, and hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

Hi Jim
No i know you where not demanding a rebuild. ;-)
it's just easier to state that i am not up for a rebuild as these threads are multiplying rapidly lately.
at the moment i am being attacked from 2 directions
1/ for not making any new FS9 models (only FSX native)
2/ for not updating my older models.
so i can't win really
All new models will be FSX only
and if and when i get a chance i will update older models
but that will be limited to the HS.748 HS.780 & Argosy
all of my older models are not good enough to spend time updating and would require a 100% rebuild.

here is the FSX Compatible 748 complete file with far too many liveries
contains all 748 models and has correct thumbnails etc.
it's not for DX-10 preview mode!
DX9 only
has normal portover issues with propeller discs and glass & some transparency on the VC panels but otherwise ok.
part of the seat texture goes black in FSX but no idea why.

there is no "Pending" FSX 748 on the way and i have never even hinted that there would be

Re: bac 1-11 in fsx
Thanks Rick the 748 is now up and running, and your post re starting in 2d panel solved a few problems with the 748 and 1-11 ,totally forgot that one.

Re: bac 1-11 in fsx
I think that the Flight sim comunity has yet to figure out how to make planes FSX compatable. not that it is there fault, I have some compatability issuses with the DEFAULT fsx planes :@
Re: bac 1-11 in fsx
IIRC some of the textures for the VC in the 1-11 are stored in the root FS "Texture" folder. When I installed the 1-11 to FSX I first installed to a temp directory, then copied all necessary textures to the individual livery folders. It took a bit of work but the 1-11 now displays with full textures in the VC. However, all of my 1-11 flights are done in FS9 since the aircraft is only truly 100% functional in its "native" environment.

Re: bac 1-11 in fsx
RE the default textures. You'll find a texture.cfg file in each of the texture folders of DM's comet. Copy this to each of the texture folders in his other aircraft and you should be fine. This was introduced in FSX so developers could put common textures in a common folder of their own, without clogging up the default texture folder in the root of FS, as these could (and did in FS9) get over written when another developer of a differnt model gave his textures the same name. The cfg file tells FSX where to look. ;-)
