. . . as if I needed another reason to go and visit my favourite aviation museum. :roll: :lol: :dancer:

D-Day veteran, C-47 N5831B ‘Drag-‘em-oot’ will be wintering at East Kirkby this year.

I hadn’t released it would be possible for an aircraft of this size to make use of East Kirkby’s grass airstrip. :o

I’m not sure of the exact details of what brought this about, but what a coup! Well done to all those involved. :welldone: :thumbsup:

If it's more than 2000 feet long, there's no reason a lightly loaded C-47 can't get in and out of there. Hell, they've landed the CAF R4D-6S in under 1000 without putting undue stress on the brakes in the past.
