Another problem with my F27

Post by Jayviator »

I have been flying the F27 from EGHI to EHAM, on my first flight which went without any problems at all FS airlines said i had used about 870kg block fuel so that is how much fuel i loaded for the return flight, infact i loaded slightly more fuel just to be certain, so i used about 900kg, about half way over the north sea my left engine cut out and i noticed the fuel in the right tank had been completely drained yet none from the left tank had been used, and this has happened on every flight since.
I have been following the checklists vigourously and have done everything correctly so i dont know what is going on, i experimented to see if opening the crossfeed valve would help but that seems to do nothing.
Does anyone know how to make the tanks drain at a more equal rate or do i simply have to load more fuel then nessacary?
Also, on a different note refering to the checklist im gettinga red cross on the fuel heaters, and i know from the 748 yiu have to use them in cold temperature but the red cross is still there even after i switch the heaters on is this a glitch or am i doing something wrong?

I flew a good number of hours on all of our fleet in the process of tanking them up to the required level and never had this problem. I'm not in a position to check this at the moment; but if you look in the aircraft cfg. for the entry number_of_tank_selectors=2. If the figure isn't 2 then change it to 2 and save.

The crossfeed cock will only work when it is opened and the two booster pumps in the tank NOT TO BE USED are switched off, but likewise this relies on the no of tank selectors being 2.

The checklist fuel heat item will only show a cross if the heaters are off below about -19' or on above that figure, however the approach check requirement is to switch them on for two minutes, after which the cross should become a tick. ;-)

Hi,

I have seen certain cases where your default Flight has things set incorrectly for panels that use multiple fuel selectors. What I do is load my default flight, switch to the plane in question, fiddle with the fuel levers back and forth (so it sets the tanks correctly), and then save the flight (as a new flight, if you wish). Then use that flight as your default flight, or load that flight before you fly the F27.

Hope this helps,
Tom Gibson

Just checked the tank selectors and they are set at 2 (FH-227B is 3 as it has an APU). ;-)

No further forward in solving the problem though :dunno:

cheers

Im wondering how come i have a series 500 G-BMXD in my sim, i just looked at the list of f27s included with mike stones F27 and that one isnt included, must have got it from somewhere else, although i do know thats where i got my F27 from as it has all those f27s in the different liveries (i use the Air UK ones as i used to see them every day at Eastleigh)
