RAF Gutersloh

Post by Patron7 »

There is a brand new RAF Gutersloh (RAF Germany) scenery available for download at AvSim. I think that Jim Dhaenens deserves a lot of credit for doing the first scenery that allows us to take our Canberras, Hunters and Lightnings etc. to a forward deployed base. Now if I just had that new FSX Hunter from Dave...

Nice scenery :)

Just as well I've got some Gutersloh based schemes lined up ;-)

Yes - I was really pleased to see it on Simviation yesterday (though where "Gutershoh" is, I've no idea...).

Unfortunately, I don't have the Harrier GR.3 for FSX to make it feel like it was during my stay, or the Lightning F2As of 19/92sqns in their dummy line-up. Or, for that matter, the 16sqn Canberra B(I)8s used on the fire dump!

But I do have some nice Wessex:

Although not 18sqn! :dunno:

Is that wedge for FS9 or has it been finally updated for FSX....?

It's the FS9 model - but I find it works perfectly in FSX/SP2/Acceleration/Kitchen sink.....

It's such a joy to fly - I made several flights with it yesterday around the army bases and did a few FRAPS videos. Pity they are so big.

I also used it on the Farmstrips tour (cheating a bit, I know - but it was so good...).

Actually, it's not perfect as the rotors make anything seen through them invisible - at least they do with the Farmstrip scenery, which is for FS9.

Dave:

Great looking Hunters! Any hints as to whether Santa might be rewarding "good boys" ?
