And for my yearly stupid answer post:

Q1) what was the TSR.1?

-What happens when a woman uses tampon that is not completely sanitary

Q2) What was the first civil aircraft to land on a RN aircraft carrier?

-A bottle of cheap champagne, I assume

Q3) Where and when was the first SBAC airshow held?

-SBAC, CABS

Q4) What did actress Gertrude Robins fly @ 1911

-A sybian

Q5) A single-seat,low-wing monoplane powered by 13hp and 26hp Douglas engines and winner of the £500 Abdulla Company prize for speed, later evolved into bi-plane as well as monoplane models; what am I?

-I'm assuming that you're 'some person sitting behind a computer.' I'm assuming a plane with a 13hp engine on one side and 26hp engine on the other was 'a disaster.'

(Shut up about mismatched engines with FADEC and/or a derate, Chris. Nipped that in the bud.)

Q6) G-EBSN was the first aircraft used by which flying club?

-Mickey Mouse. G-BDSM on the other hand...

Q7) Which is the oldest licenced aerodrome in UK? (as in,been licenced the longest)

-Sheremetyevo

Q8) How long is the officially licensed north/south runway 18 at Netherthorpe?

-Long enough

Q9) Why was Geoffrey Tyson test flying Auster Autocar G-AMZV in 1955?

-Because he needed to get to the factory where they produce his chicken. He wasn't quite so hungry, having had a boxer's ear for lunch

Q10) UK airline that has been operating under its' original name the longest?

-Crap
Can't be arsed.

Buggered if I can fine which aircaft it was now, but TSR1 was the designation given to a much early aircraft, something in my head about a biplane, but can't remember if it was WW1 or WW2

[Edit] Found it!!!
The precursor of the Swordfish, the Fairey PV, was designed by Marcel Lobelle as a private venture to meet an order from the Greek Navy. The prototype PV made its first flight on 21 March 1933. The PV met Air Ministry requirement S.9/30 for an unarmed spotter - reconnaissance aircraft, but had an Armstrong Siddeley Panther radial engine instead of a liquid-cooled Rolls-Royce Kestrel. After modifications and replacement of the engine by a Bristol Pegasus IIM radial, it was renamed the TSR 1 (Torpedo - Spotter - Reconnaissance 1). It flew in this form in July 1933, but was lost in September 1933.

Q.2 I'm pretty sure it was Eric Brown in his own private Airacobra, but I think that was probably still on the military register so wouldn't count?

Q2) What was the first civil aircraft to land on a RN aircraft carrier?

I'm pretty sure this must have been the Bristol Brabazon. Named after a peer of the realm it was the most civil aircraft of its day. Military aircraft were generally quite uncivil and went around killing people and destroying things without even asking! The Bristol Brabazon always said please and thank you and was so charming that the Captain of the aircraft carrier felt that he would appear rude if he refused a request to land.

He regretted it, of course, as the ship, aircraft and Captain all sank without trace. 1952, I think that was. Terrible business.

Don't know the others :worried:
