Some of you may have heard the sad news that Les Bywaters passed away last night. While not much of a poster on this forum, he may be known from numerous other forums in which he shared his seemingly bottomless Canberra knowledge. I will definitely miss him. Full details over at the SOH:

Very sad News indeed. I remember emailing him years ago with a random Canberra question and recieving a great reply, very enthusiastic and helpful

I know what you mean, Ben. When I started doing repaints on the Bill Holker Canberras, Les was a neverending source of info on everything Canberra, and a stickler for getting stencilling details right! I must have exchanged countless emails with him about that kind of thing- all of which I am certainly glad I kept. He has some brilliant stories from his RAF years as well, and will definitely be missed.
