HDTV's

Post by jonesey2k »

Anybody here connected their TV's up to their PC's?
I've just plugged my PC into my new 40" Samsung Series 8 and I must say that FSX looks absolutely stunning at 1920*1080! Its very imersive playing on such a large screen and the picture quality is far better then my 22" LCD monitor! Performance isn't really affected as the jump to 1920x1080 isn't much of a step up from my monitor's 1680x1050. I'm well chuffed as other games such as UT3 and Bioshock are ace on this thing too :)
I used a long DVI to HDMI cable, a wireless keyboard & mouse, a USB extension lead for the joystick and a long co-axial cable for the sound into the amp.

Don't go posting things like that, I'm finding it hard enough not buying a 50" flat screen!
Currently I've only got a 28" CRT which is running as a display for my media centre PC which is cobbled together from spare parts after upgrading my main box. I suppose I could claim I was trying to kick start the economy....

You could also claim that buying stuff from abroad will get even more expensive as the pound continues to fall and import prices rise :) I'm glad I did tbh as I still cant get over the quality of Blu ray discs....

Heh I'm not married but the current lady friend knows better then to interfere with my hard-earned :dancer:

Sadly i bought my 42 inch plasma 2 years ago and the res is only 1024 x 768...and fsx looks like DaveB sees it......CRAP....

But it looks stunning with Sky HD....The HD Programs not FSX.....

I have the best of both worlds with my 19" Hansol CRT.. HD if I have my reading glasses on.. blurred otherwise  Unfortunately, my 21" TV died the death last year so I had to resort to an old 14" I had kicking around. It's not as bad as you'd imagine and far enough from my eyes that it's clear without my HD glasses :cpu:
