On that subject... Yeovilton should do something about de-conflicting with Duxford. Sure, many people are local, but many enthusiasts aren't and have to make a tough choice between the two. I'm sure there is also a tough choice for those displaying (flying or static) and retailers as well. I love the Yeovilton Air Day (yesterday was fantastic), but I still prefered it when it was in September! It had a pretty unique slot back then, which I think drew a lot of people. Anyway, thats my t'pence for today!

Luckily for Legends, they profited from it when it all went tits up last year.

Was a very enjoyable day out but I was a bit disappointed as there wasn't half the stuff flying as last year.
Well worth the trip out. Only bad part was getting showered with stones each time the two Skyraider's sparked up

I took this taxiing onto the runway. That flugwerk 190 is really cool.



And yes Fred and the gang did score us. I was so surprised Fred could spell I had to take this pic taxiing back

We also nearly broke your record of grounding a Mustang within 2 minutes of shutdown.

Just so you know, Fred is the head of maintenance at TFC and "the" Spitfire maintenance guru. He is the one that restored Jim's (Jim Beasley aka "Horseman One") Griffon Spit and then reassembled it when it got here to the states. Rich is Jim's mechanic stateside and the one that loves to ground every plane that enters the Beasley hangar just because.

Also, if you're interested in the goings on in Jim's hangar, head over to WiX and read the following thread - Bald Eagle Aviation. There's 37 pages so far, but it has a lot of great pictures and videos of Jim and his toys.

Finally, I would like to know what you guys thought of the Horsemen routine and invite you to visit the site of their TV series - "The Horsemen Cometh" on ASB.TV. They feature "Max" Moga (of several Discovery Channel series' fame), and there is a great webisode called "Spitfire" that is very touching and talks a little about Jim and his dad (Jim Sr.) in addition to showing Jim in his introduction to the Griffon Spit (which
supposedly is what caused him to get his own).
