Interesting Joe

Thanks for that :)

I've only ever seen one at that was a green US Army one that landed at Prestwick whilst I was there :)

still hardened for military ops mate ...including an M-130 flare and chaff dispenser system, armor plating, IR suppressive paint, and it features Aircraft Survivability Equipment, including Martin-Baker ejection seats

a fleet of 6 in all .. the sixth is .... somewhere

Like Garry, only seen a couple of green US army ones - long time ago at USAF Open days at Mildenhall around 1980

Surprised they are still around - have to have a look at LNA when I next get to Florida on vacation.

What is the hurricane prediction for this year?

Hi Ian

I think I stumbled on something at Prestwick during my only visit there in the late eighties.

Concious that it hosted perhaps the most interesting movements in the UK, they can be days aprart

However in the 20 mins or so I was there the Mohawk landed followed by a NASA DC 8 then an all white TriStar and and all white DC-8-61 both pax both anonymous and both US reg. I think they were all connected somehow...the pax coming off the two transports looked to be in civvie gear but just didn't look like your normal bucket and spade crowd.

Nice Joe

I remember three or four of those being up at Glynco in the Late 70s being operated by the DEA -- they also had a handful of Hueys - they were painted OD with NO markings just the DEA crest under the pilots side-- they had AIM9 rails on them as well
:o
