Yeah! They're finally on their way. :dancer: It's going to be a sad day when NASA retires these amazing birds. Here's a website containing excellent videos of almost all of the Shuttle flights. The videos are narrated by the astronauts themselves which really brings the experience of spaceflight down to Earth.

Last night, the shuttle was visible over Ireland trailing exhaust gases with the external tank also visible having just been jettisoned. It's only the second time this has occurred over Ireland and though I missed it myself, some friends saw it and said it was truly spectacular. The phone-in shows on radio were clogged up with people calling for some time afterwards. Like I said I missed it but saw the ISS pass overhead about 20 minutes later.

Amazing Clavel !!

My son and I watched when the shuttle was approaching DeltaV and the shockwave was very noticeable from the camera on the tank -- I was wondering if that was visible from earth -- you answered two questions -- the second was from my son -- which was "Where are they now Daddy?" so now I can tell him they were over Ireland

Cheers
