Andover
I downloaded the Andover, lovely aircaft. Tricky to taxi and I've a hight port enging temp, I noticed the starter light is stuck on and I can't get rid. Would this cause high engine temp?
I like this flight simming, it's fun.....

Re: Andover
right
first off read the manual as it's complex and bites if you get it wrong.
Main points you need to follow.
1/ Do not use "CTRL E" to start the engines on any of my models as it won't work as my stuff is programmed to require the correct startup sequence.
2/ Do not use "L" to switch on the lights (I spent months making 3d working switched in the VC so use them or those in the 2d panel)
3/ Do not use the Andover or 748 as your saved flight aircraft (always use a default Aircraft for saved situations)
4/ Make sure you load the 2d panel before you go into the VC for the first time each flight.
5/ Learn to use the fuel heaters and engine anti ice when the outside air temperature is under 5 Degrees C.
I would guess you pressed CTRL E to start the engines which will mess up the starting and leave the starter engaged which will cause a TGT problem
on the real aircraft you would probably start a fire.
These models are complex in that they need the systems to be monitored and adjusted almost constantly (no computers in these babies)
But once mastered they are far more rewarding to fly.
Regards
Rick

Re: Andover
I've been flying the Andover in Alaska alot recently and IF you follow the manual it runs like a clockwork mouse.
The only time I take the fuel heat off is for take off then it goes back on as soon as the aircraft is cleaned up and in the climb -- in July using
ActiveSky I logged 32 hours of IFR!!!! Some of the places I have flown in and out of this month I dont want to see VFR!!! If I cant see the Mountains
they dont scare me

Re: Andover
I didn't use ctrl+E to start the, engines, so I'll cast my eye over the manual regarding starting again. The engines are on start when the aircraft is loaded, so I'll go over the shutdown and start again and see how it goes.
