First flight complete!

Post by Pricetx »

Just finished my first flight for CBFS! It was only in a Dove but everyone has to start somewhere

Now im not sure how to make my pictures under 800X600 so i'm just going to post the links for now. I took some screenshots of the flight along the way.

EDIT: Don't worry, I worked out how to do thumbnails :)

Ready to go at Liverpool

Thanks to the lack of visibility, i was blindly guessing at base and final, as you can see it wasn't a very good guess

Through a bit of luck and skill... mostly luck, i managed to get lined up just in time

Not a bad landing..

Well done that man

No worries it's 'only a Dove'....you still have to do all the right things.....just a little more gently :D

That's the ticket  The Dove is a really great tool for learning how FSA works being not to fast (no worries about exceeding 250kts below FL100 though you still have to be careful not to overspeed while taxiing) but fast enough to get around in a nice fashion ;)

Congrats and welcome to the wonderful world of CBFS VA. I'm curently enjoying the delights of Guernsey, never been here before, quite a tight little airport... How on earth did that DC-10 freighter that I saw parked up get in I wonder... More to the point, how's he going to get out again? Nearly as mad as all the China Eastern flights I see parked up in various UK airports. I think my Traffic has got a bit screwed...

Good to see anyone improving (especially myself).

However, just a little RW advice.

Don't concentrate too much on greasing it on, all you do is use up runway (risk of going off the other end), so put it down at the correct point on the runway (maximum stopping distance available) firm, but not hard (if the runway is wet you need to break the st to avoid any chance of aquaplaning).

There's an old adage somewhere about some of the most useless things in aviation - runway behind you and fuel in the bowser being two of them.

Happy landings
